Well well… we expected this to be a massive night, and we were not one bit disappointed…

If you’ve not visited Cobalt Studios before then you really are missing a treat. Situated tucked out of the way in deepest Shieldfield it is probably the finest underground venue in the north east – cracking sound system, super-friendly staff, and an altogether positive, creative vibe that is fully behind the independent arts and culture scenes in our region.

Our friends over at Kaneda Records hosted BOP, a 5 hour electronic music bonanza kicking off with the superb young Cass Lamb Deejay spinning an eclectic, growing selection of lesser-known electronic gems from all sides of the spectrum: proper warm up, brilliantly executed.

Next up we got to do our live thing for an hour, and what a ball we had with an up-for-it dancers really coming with us on our journey – big up everyone who made it so special for us! Video of our set here:

Next up was a stunning live show from Buhl / Daughters, representing the firm, techno flavour of Kaneda’s output and with a relentless, crisp and pounding style that would not be out of place on a Drumcode stage – lets just say we were VERY impressed…

And finally back on the decks was Simon, part of one of Newcastle’s finest techno parties Backgroup, with a wide-ranging, diverse set packed with quality and hidden treasures that the assembled masses clearly were bang up for – its no surprise that Backdrop have the following they do with this kind of vibe.

Huge thanks to the Kaneda boys for inviting us over to play!
