After the success of the first Northern Electric Festival in summer 2016, the event returned with a bang for 2017 and we were delighted to be a part of it. Spread over multiple venues across Newcastle and spanning 2 nights NEF 2017 brought together acts covering all sides of the electronic music spectrum from experimental to full-on, and everything in between.
Our set featured right in the middle of proceedings on the Saturday night on the Cumberland Arms stage and comprised our usual bag of electronic trickery (and someone asked what we gear we use so, for the music geeks, it was Ableton Live with a pair of Akai APC40s, Roland TR-8, Akai MPK Mini, Akai LPD8, Novation Launchkey and a stack of soft synths and FX). The PA for the event was top-notch (aka lots of BASS!!) and we used it to the fullest effect for our short-but-sweet 30 minute set, stacked with new material and firmly aimed at the dancefloor.
It was a fantastic night and the not-inconsiderable effort put into running the event from the boys at Kaneda Records paid off with a packed room and a great, friendly and up-for-it crowd. Check out some video from our set below:
It was great to see the crowd really getting into our music and its fair to say that it was pretty jumping and massively hot & sweaty in the room, always a good sign! Thank you so much to those who came over to say hello to us and for the kind words about our performance, it really means a lot to us.
Big thanks to Sim and all of the NEF organisers for having us along, we had an absolute ball. The electronic music scene in the north east is firing – roll on NEF 2018!
